Which type of hypoxia involves anemia or carbon monoxide poisoning?

Hypemic hypoxia is a condition characterized by a reduction in the amount of oxygen that is carried in the blood, primarily due to a decrease in hemoglobin or ineffective hemoglobin. Anemia reduces the number of red blood cells available to carry oxygen, leading to insufficient oxygen delivery to tissues. Similarly, carbon monoxide poisoning occurs when carbon monoxide binds to hemoglobin much more effectively than oxygen, thereby reducing the oxygen-carrying capacity of the blood. Both scenarios result in the same outcome: the body’s tissues are unable to receive adequate oxygen despite potentially normal oxygen levels in the environment. Hence, hypemic hypoxia specifically addresses these conditions where the oxygen transport capability of the blood is compromised.
